After my visit to Death Valley, I spent two nights in Zion National Park. This was my fourth or fifth visit to the park, but the first time in winter and the first time staying in Zion Lodge, right in the heart of Zion Canyon. There was snow at elevation, but none in the valley.
Regardless, Zion did not disappoint.

I spent the morning taking a leisurely stroll on the Riverside Walk along the Virgin River.

Later in the afternoon, I headed to the eastern, less-visited part of the park, where I’m always fascinated by the geology and the rock formations.
